John Dykes

John is one of the world’s best-known sports TV presenters thanks to his role as lead anchor for the Barclays Premier League’s global broadcasts. His face appears on screens in 110 countries, from South Africa to Sweden, in leading global cities such as Singapore and Dubai, as he fronts match day coverage of the world’s most popular football league.

Prior to that, he was the face of ESPN Star Sports’ far-reaching broadcasts of football, cricket and other sports to the vast Asian TV audience. He returned to the UK in 2010 to take up a position with the Premier League’s global feed, produced by IMG media.


John grew up in the UK and was educated at Brentwood School and Warwick University. He followed his family to Hong Kong and developed a career in Asia before returning to the UK at the invitation of the Premier League for the launch of its Content Service. He lives in Cobham – a stone’s throw from Chelsea FC’s training ground – with his wife, Gina, and his two daughters.

As well as his broadcast work, John is a popular host and Master of Ceremonies on the international after dinner and awards circuit. He has hosted events including the Asian TV Awards, the Masters Football Gala Dinner, sporting quizzes and sponsors’ dinners, as well as a variety of corporate awards ceremonies ranging from the Asian Shipping Awards to HSBC’s annual corporate retreat.  Most recently he was MC at a Premier League community initiative at the Houses of Parliament in front of an audience of 75 MPs.

John brings to all of his work anecdotes, insight and entertainment gleaned from a “day job” which is the envy of many.
