Born in Manchester in 1972 and brought up in Worsley, Chris Addison attended the Manchester Grammar School. He then went on to the University of Birmingham from where he graduated in 2004.
He has since been involved with the world famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival 11 times, performing stand-up comedy and in 2004 he was nominated for the prestigious Perrier Award for comedy for his show, "Civilisation."
He made the leap into acting; writing and starring in a radio comedy called "The Department" along with close friends and fellow comedians, Andy Zaltzman and John Oliver and as the naive Cambridge-graduate Oliver Reeder in the BBC television satirical comedy "The Thick Of It." He played the part of Toby in its spin-off film 'In the Loop' and has starred in as well as co-created/wrote 'Lab Rats', a sitcom that aired on BBC2 in 2008.
His reputation as a stand up comedian continues to grow but he is also continuing to develop his writing and performing in radio, television and the theatre.
Chris has made guest appearances on 'Have I Got News for You', 'Would I Lie to You' and 'Mock the Week'. '8 Out of 10 Cats' and 'Live at the Apollo.'
