DARREN LEWIS has been a football writer for the Daily Mirror for ten years and is about to represent the paper at his second World Cup Finals.

Over the past decade Darren has also been the Mirror’s Tennis correspondent and remains its Snooker correspondent. It is all a far cry from ten years ago when he had to be persuaded to take the Mirror’s offer of employment after turning down their initial approach.

But Football is his primary focus and he is a regular on the Premier League, Champions League and International beat. A regular on Sky Sports News as well as radio stations TalkSPORT and Five Live, Darren ventured into broadcast media in 2005 with appearances on GMTV. He is now a permanent fixture on the internet.

His Football Spy daily transfers bulletin was voted in January 2010 the most popular sports show on YouTube.

Football Spy also earned Darren a nomination for Digital Reporter of the Year at the 2009 British Press Awards - on the back of his nomination for Sports News Reporter of the Year in 2005.
