As well as playing the works of Mozart, Beethoven and all the other great composers for the medium, it is also able to bring the same dedication of performance to its own unique library of sparkling and witty arrangements of all kinds of popular music from Opera through Swing and Jazz to the great Musicals, Pop hits and Rock classics, including tunes by the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, Abba and many more. We are available for concerts, weddings, product launches and all other kinds of function both corporate and private, together with entertaining in hotels and restaurants and on board cruise liners. Our uniquely extensive repertoire stretches from Vivaldi to the Verve. An entirely classical approach is often popular, as is a preference for completely modern pop and rock music. A mixture of all styles, from Baroque through Opera, Jazz and Musicals to recent hits is also available. You will almost certainly find that favourite number to make your wedding truly personal, but in the unlikely event that your tune is not already in our playlist, we can arrange it especially for the occasion.

We have performed at a many of the major UK wedding venues, including prestigious hotels such as the Ritz and Claridges, as well as a considerable number of countrywide stately homes. In fact, having also entertained at a wedding in the famous wine-producing Chateau Lafitte in Bordeaux, it is our proud boast that distance is no object, and we are also entirely at home in more conventional, perhaps less prominent surroundings.

Different packages are available to suit all requirements and pockets. The ceremony, drinks reception and wedding breakfast, all can be enhanced with music chosen by the happy couple. STATUS CYMBAL has the know-how to create the desired atmosphere.

Function Music

As one of the UK?s busiest and most sought-after professional quartets, and with more than eighteen years of experience, STATUS CYMBAL has the ability and panache to enhance the ambience of every kind of event, however formal or informal the occasion. A keen sense of the requisite style, achieved by close liaison with the client, ensures that Status Cymbal will be playing the right music in the right place and at the right time. The quartet has provided music for functions in venues including Althorp, Claridges, the London Ritz, Highclere Castle and Pinewood Studios where guest lists have included the Princess Royal, Cleo Laine, Lord Sainsbury, Pavarotti, Bob Geldof, Keith Richards, Steve Redgrave, David Gower and Boy George. The UK premiere of the Hollywood movie The Royal Tenenbaums, the re-launches of O2 and Audos, the corporate event organisers, as well as the magazine Men's Health's search for a new cover model all saw STATUS CYMBAL providing the music. Always, special care is taken to match the music to the wishes of the engager, thus creating the appropriate mood and atmosphere however extrovert or intimate the occasion might be.

Mostly light or light-classical pieces (at least one from every continent 'well perhaps not Australia!) though we often play Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody by popular demand 'audience choice to be 'Modes of Transport'.

Everything from Gershwin to Lloyd Webber via Kern, Berlin, Bernstein, Rogers and many others. Audience choice from a selection of favourite Gershwin tunes.

20th Century Remembered in Popular Song

From Music Hall to Hollywood Blockbuster. A number from every decade of the last century / audience choice / Hits from the 60's.

Screen Spectacular!

Music from all (well almost all!) your best-loved films, includes Schindler's List, The Pink Panther, The Great Escape, famous Westerns and classic screen musicals. Audience choice - favourite TV themes.

'Palm Court' gems from an era of bygone elegance'  but the promoter has to find the appropriate props (a palm in a pot will do!). Audience choice from a medley of light classical 'Lollipops' by the likes of Elgar, Faur, Scott Joplin, Massenet etc.

A Musical Kaleidoscope

All the colours of the rainbow in musical form, from Lady in Red to Mood Indigo. As so many songs concern the colour blue, we leave the choice to the audience!
