Sally
has travelled the length and breadth of the country presenting for Songs of
Praise since she joined in 1984.
She began her career as a journalist on The Scotsman and went on to present
Scottish current affairs programmes before moving to Sixty Minutes, the BBC's
successor to Nationwide.
In October 1986 she joined BBC ONE's Breakfast Time, later Breakfast News, as
one of the main presenters - a job she continued for several years until moving
back to her native Glasgow in the mid-1990s.
She currently anchors Reporting Scotland, along with a range of other
television work. She is an occasional presenter of Newsnight Scotland.
She is the presenter of Hard Cash for BBC ONE and a reporter on the network's
current affairs series 4X4.
She has reported for QED and Living Proof and presented the first series of A
Family of My Own for BBC ONE Daytime.
She has worked extensively on radio and is the author of several books
including The Flying Scotsman, a biography of the Olympic athlete Eric Liddell,
and her most recent publication, Family Life, based on her popular series of
newspaper columns about life with her five children.
In the corporate market, Sally enjoys speaking at literary lunches and to
businesswomen groups.
