Rob is a freelance
broadcaster, producer, press officer and after-dinner speaker. He began working
for the BBC in 1982, and is still a regular contributor to BBC Radio 5-Live,
presenting sports bulletins, contributing features and acting as a tipster on
the Breakfast Programme's Racing Slots. He also has presented the sport on Radio
4's Today Programme.
For four
years, he was BBC Radio's Golf Producer, masterminding 5-Live's award-winning
coverage at the British Open, the US Masters and the Ryder Cup. In 1995, The
Ryder Cup coverage won two Sony National Radio Awards.
Nowadays,
Rob mixes him time at the BBC, with other assignments around the world. He has
worked for BBC TV at the 1998 World Cup, acts as Press Officer at the Alfred
Dunhill Cup golf, and the Benson and Hedges Golf and Snooker Tournaments. His
after dinner speeches are a mixture of sporting anecdotes and broadcasting gaffs
at the BBC.
