Nicholas Owen presents
the ITV Lunchtime News. Previously, as well as reporting at home and abroad, he
has been a regular presenter for a decade of the whole range of ITV News
bulletins. His previous roles have included anchoring ITN's Channel Four News.
He has been
a regular contributor to ITN's Budget programmes, having joined ITN from the BBC
in 1984 as Channel Four News' Business and Economics Correspondent.
Recent
"outside" engagements have included chairing (as he has since its inauguration)
the National Rail Conference, bringing together all the leading railway
"players", including the Secretary of State for Transport; after dinner speaking
at the end of the newspaper industry's three-day national conference; talking to
various groups about his experiences reporting on the Royal Family, and
contributing to several recent Royal TV programmes; hosting the Community Awards
ceremony in Sussex, a big regional event and another task he's performed for
several years; chairing BT "workshop" sessions involving the telecommunications
company and other leading businesses.
