Kate is an experienced, trained Broadcast Journalist specialising in news and current affairs. Kate has just joined the BBC's BREAKFAST team while continuing co-presenting BBC NEWS 24. Prior to this she co-presented the BRIAN ALEXANDER BREAKFAST SHOW on BBC RADIO FIVE LIVE. Kate presented WEEKEND WITH ROD LIDDLE AND KATE SILVERTON for BBC 3, a mix of live audience discussion, panel debate and interviews with MPs. She presented HEY BIG SPENDER for BBC1 and for SKY NEWS she hosted 3D, a news and current affairs show where three topical issues were discussed in depth, with viewer contribution. Kate has also presented the HEAVEN AND EARTH SHOW for BBC 1, and THE THIRD DEGREE for BBC 3 part of their current affairs strand aimed at 20-35 year olds. Kate is a regular guest reviewer on radio programmes such as NICK FERRARI on LBC and a regular political and current affairs commentator for BBC RADIO FIVE LIVE and can frequently be seen on Ch5's THE WRIGHT STUFF.

Kate graduated with a BSc in psychology from the University of Durham and spent a year reading Arabic and Middle Eastern History and Politics. Kate started her career as a Corporate Financier with a London Investment Bank and has an in-depth knowledge of the field.
